Strategic Plan
Strategic Plan
The strategic plan of the Center for the period (1434–1443H / 2013–2022) reflects its vision to advance population studies and support development efforts within Saudi society. It also includes a number of projects that the Center has worked to implement.
International Cooperation:
- The Center is working to finalize a cooperation agreement with the Population Studies Center at the University of Michigan in the areas of field surveys and demographic data collection.
- The Center is also developing a cooperation agreement with the Population Studies Center at the University of Minnesota to establish a demographic data documentation and archiving unit for Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
- The Center collaborates with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to organize a roundtable discussion on “Population and Development Policies” — an open forum for dialogue involving representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Shura Council, demographers, sociologists, and physicians working in population-related fields in Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries.
Community Engagement:
- As part of its role in community service and promoting population awareness, the Center organized a workshop entitled “Population Concepts and Issues” for media professionals. The event, attended by journalists and television program producers, was held at King Saud University on 24 Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1434H.
- Within its partnership with the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh, the Center prepared a research proposal titled “A Social Development Strategy to Combat Unemployment and Reduce Poverty in the City of Riyadh.”
- The Center also collaborated with the Ministry of Social Affairs in preparing a proposal for the establishment of the National Family Planning Fund.
