Population Studies Center – King Saud University
The Population Studies Center at King Saud University is the first and only specialized center in population studies in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It was established under the Higher Education Council Resolution No. 11/56/1430 dated 22/10/1430 AH. The Center serves population-related issues and contributes to achieving Saudi Arabia’s strategic developmental goals through research on population phenomena such as fertility, mortality, migration, population structure, labor force, unemployment, population-development relations, aging, and women’s studies.
The Center plays an important role in supporting national efforts aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Notably, leading global universities such as Harvard, Cornell, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Minnesota have established and supported population research centers to enhance their contribution to sustainable development and community service.
